THe Hunger Games and John Carter!

Yay, I went on a movie spree! I finally watched the Hunger Games (after a really hard bike ride, but it was worth it), and, in the same day, John Carter. Yay! The Hunger Games I really liked, but if you're planning to watch it, read the book first. If you don't, the movie won't make much sense to you. Liked it better then John Carter, though... but John Carter was good to. It was about this guy in the 19th century that found himself in Mars. He fought with aliens, fought against aliens, and fell in LOVE! The main highlight of the movie was how he jumped (the gravity on Mars is less then ours so he jumped like meters high... he would do really well in the olympics!), and the weird thing was that there were aliens, but there were humans as well (he fought against one city of humans with the aliens and the other city of humans). It was hysterical... I really liked it. Anyways, I've been working really hard on my environmental expo project (I have to present it in front of grownups and the general public) and I have also been researching a scientist named Li Ji. I think I am doing really well on both. And last of all, some friends came over and had some dinner. All they did was talk to my mom, so I did this:
Like it? I was trying to copy cinnamonmewmew (look her up on youtube) with her computer- drawn horses- I think I actually did okay, but could do with more shading.

Ice Cream!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow I am having ice cream for breakfast! Yay! But it isn't because of a very special occasion :( A friend's dad died of cancer a few days ago. When he was first diagnosed he had ice cream for breakfast the morning after he was diagnosed... so we are going to keep the tradition up! These are the kinds I get to pick from:

-Ultra Chocolate
-Hazelnut Fudge
-Mixed Berry
-Caramel Peanut Brittle

Yum! I think I'll have the caramel one and the hazelnut one (some of the berry one if my parents will let me). We have popsicles from a while ago, but that doesn't count. Looking forward to it! YUMMY!

The Depot de Pain!!!

You know what that translates to me: The Depot of PAIN. NO! I drive past it almost every day! I am going to suffer PAIN! No, really, there is this french cafe that I pass everyday that is called the Depot de Pain. Just thought that was a funny topic. Anyways, not much today- except tons of homework-... Just wanted to mention that! Oh, there actually WAS something interesting... GIANT ICE CREAMS! I had this huge ice cream that was like as big as my face and ate it all! Yummy! Did you see the awesome background color? My friend helped me change it! I still haven't seen the Hunger Games! They are coming out on the 22nd. My dad said that we would probably see them this weekend! Vocabulary: Fairy Floss instead of cotton candy, tigi instead of tag, serviette instead of napkin (not everybody uses that).

Hello... I am Alive

I haven't been on blogger for days, I know... but I do have reasons. First of all, there wasn't too much interesting things going on (well, there were, but they are not blogging material). Second of all, I was busy. I had a BIG homework project- I had a lot of research going on, especially in google images. Yes, you might have gotten it... I am going to have the environmental expo soon! It has kept me busy for a few nights- hopefully it'll turn out well. Anyways, the only exciting thing that has happened is THE LEE STREET FETE! It was today... and kind of crazy. The second I got there I went to the art stand and helped put stuff up. Then I had a band performance- then volunteering at some game- then to the art stand again- lunch- CRAZY COOL RIDES! It was crazy, but fun. I got some books, a portrait (like of myself) , and lunch. It was fun.

Cow Poo Kills!

Yes, it really does! This is because the poo (and the farts, mind you) have methane gas in them. Methane gas is 20 times more potent than CO2, it just doesn't have that much quantity. Anyways, you know how the indians would pick up buffalo poop and burn it to make fires? Well, I guess that was because the poop was actually combustible. So guess what... COW POOP KILLS (at least it will when all the ice melts or something)! Oh, if you want to proof click here.
Okay, to get into more neutral topics... On Saturday we watched a movie (a movie called "The Secret of Moonacre" which was mildly cheesy but it could have actually gotten into the movies if it had made more sense), but before that (in the morning) I went on another grocery shopping bike ride (this time it was worth it- I got Black Beauty the chapter book!) and of course got some groceries. I also found out that The Hunger Games is coming out the 22nd- NO!!!! Today I went to the movies and watched a (sometimes) terribly animated movie: Angelina Ballerina! I never knew it would come to that. It reminds me of a ten second youtube video that I watched of someone singing "I just wasted ten seconds of your life", except "I just wasted an hour of your life"! Oh, it was a terrible movie.

I Guess There is SOMETHING to Say

Well, I guess there is, but not much. All that is really exciting is that I completed a really big house project (with like loans and interest and stuff) and that I got started on the environmental landcare expo thing (I said that we would get started on that in some other post). I am doing my topic on global warming and how the icescaps are melting and stuff. I still have to sort out excactly what I am going to do with my team. As usual, my sister had recorder in the afternoon and I had band during lunchtime. As you might gather, there is not much to say about school. But, before I finish, please check out this website:

climatecrisis.net

It is a website that talks about CO2 emisions and global warming and what you can do to help. Please take a look and HELP THE ENVIRONMENT! My teachers didn't make me study this stuff so much without expecting a positive outcome.

Sorry!

Sorry I haven't been online for a few days... on Friday I thought that I would wait till Saturday, but then on Saturday I didn't get time to write. Then on Sunday I didn't want to stay up too late, so... I didn't write. On Friday Monkey had a picnic for school: we went to the park next door and had pizza and stuff. I got famous for my animal noises (pig, horse, donkey, cat, bird, duck, big cat, and other things). On Saturday I went to a party of my mom's to celebrate a wedding anniversary and going to move somewhere else. We made biscuits at home and brought them there. There was tons of food (especially desert!). We came back home late. And on Sunday... we went to the Melbourne Museum. Guess what I saw: Phar Lap, the famous race horse. Not like a painting of him or anything, but the actual him. No, he is not alive. He is stuffed, stuffed like a bird or fox or something! He is in a glass display case, and he is huge! It was really cool seeing him. This horse is special because he was a very succesful race horse in very hard times in Australia. A few days (or weeks?) after he raced a race in America (and a very rich one, too. He won.), he died at age 4. He was poisoned by something: I think they had that thing in one of his medicines but he ingested too much. Foul play was also suggested, but the truth has never been discovered.
Anyways, the rest of the museum was cool too. There was a lot of australian history, dinosaurs, and rooms and rooms full of stuffed animals! It was so amazing! Today I had school again... there is not much to tell.

Note: for those who do not know what stuffed animals are. A stuffed animal is basically an animal's skin that has been taken off the body (obviously after it has died) and stuffed with straw or something. They could almost be alive... except they aren't!
