What Color?

Hey guys, I've decided... thanks for the input!

This kind of links onto my last post (the one about what horse breed I could be?), but this time I'm asking about the coat color. This page has most of the horse color range in it:

http://daughterofthestars.deviantart.com/art/Equine-Genetics-A-Guide-71688420

You don't need to read any of the text.
My personal favorite coat colors are grey (medium- dark), chestnut, and appaloosa (pictures are coming in a few lines).
Now, that link doesn't talk about certain patterns, like appaloosa, and paint, and others like that.
This one on the left is called a Rabicano. I believe this can go on any color of horse, so it could be white with black, grey, or anything else.
This is a Tobiano. On this marking the markings are rounded (not sharp and jagged) and typically the legs, back and beginning of the tail are white. Tobianos can have normal face markings and there is more white than black.
This is a Sabino. It is often confused with roans and rabicanos and has high white markings on legs, white markings on the belly, often the face markings are extended beyond the eyes, and there are also sometimes white patches beyond the general white.
This is an overo. Typically the overo markings are more sharp and irregular. Usually there is more dark than white and the face is usually white with blue eyes (my horse is a bit of an exception right here). The legs are usually dark. There are also some variations, like:
The splash overo. I LOVE spalsh overos. They look awesome. I would describe them as just the bottom half of the body is white, while the upper half is the darker color. I think it's a cute color.
Last but not least are the appaloosas.
This is a leopard appaloosa (my favorite variation). Leopard appaloosas just have spots all over their body. They can have five spots. They can have 100 spots, but they are still a leopard appaloosa.
This is a leopard appaloosa as well. I LOVE the coloring on this foal.
This is a blanket appaloosa. Typically they have a "blanket" of white over their rump (which can actually go up until about their shoulders) which has spots inside it.

This is a pintaloosa, which is basically a cross between a pinto and an appaloosa. You can tell the difference on this one because a blanket is different than this pattern (especially since there aren't any other extra blankets- and this one has an extra patch on its shoulder!).
This last one I would like to point out is called a fleabitten grey. Fleabitten greys are basically white horses with little chestnut spots sprinkled across the horse's body. There can be lots, like on this horse, but there can also only be a few, and they can also be all concentrated into one place (the most common of which I think is the shoulder- there is this whole thing about "bloody shoulder arabians", which is actually just those chestnut fleabites all concentrated on the shoulder, which makes it look like it's bleeding).
That's it for now.
If you have any questions or an opinion/ suggestion, please juat caomment or email me personally.

Whaaaa...?

Another week and it would have been another MONTH!!! What is going on, M2A?
Just lately, I feel like I have no time to do stuff.
Which isn't true, I have tons of time.
I guess it's a phsycological thing.
Anyways, it definitely isn't homework. Nu-uh. I feel like I'm not getting enough of THAT stuff.
As I said: it's probably a phsycological thing.
Anyways, last time did I talk about the oncoming choir and band camp?
I hope so.
Anyways, so I went. Most of the time I played with the band (because the band is accompanying the choir on some songs and playing in the band is my priority), but I sang with the choir a few times. It was fun. There was this random point where they gave us a duet type of thing and nobody wanted to play the first (hard) part except for me. It was fun. On the first night we watched "The Sapphires" and on the second night we had this thing called "Red Faces".
"Red Faces" is basically a talent show. At first I didn't really think of competing, but then they showed us the prizes:
1st: A WHOLE JAR of Jelly Bellies.
2nd: 60 lollipops.
3rd: 40 lollipops.
That got me going. So I competed with the only thing that I could totally do out of improvisation and without much practice: animal noises.
Now, I know it might sound totally weird, and it might sound like a failure, but it wasn't.
I made up a story about a puppy who didn't know how to bark. So he took a little walk to try and find out and on his way he met a horse, cat, bird, duck, pig, and goat. The story ended with a mountain lion attacking him and a dog saving him. When I signed up I totally thought "Oh, this is going to be so bad."
When I got up on stage and gave the show's name ("The Puppy") I started feeling confident (from the resounding and completely immature "Awww!" that came from the audience).
Through the middle, I felt pretty good.
By the end, I was feeling awesome.
It was SO much fun just doing all my animal noises and creeping people out/ surprising them.
I got third place (along with a girl who did a singing solo- which, in my honest opinion, did not sound good AT ALL- and a group of- I think- dancers), and 8 lollipops.
The group that got first place didn't completely deserve it because they messed up the first time they sang, recieved thorough advice from the teachers, and on top of that got extra time to practice and a second chance at performing.
The group that got second should have come first. It was so epic!!!
After the show, everyone came up to me, asked to hear a noise, and then told me I should've gotten first place.
I still get requests all the time for a certain animal noise.
I love it.
Anyways, after that I went back to school. I said a speech about how annoying sisters are (receiving supreme admiration from the teacher, but not first place- I was actually beaten by another girl who talked about siblings), offered my sisters a lollipop each if they could keep from crying for a day (they both failed), and went to the Moomba Festival.
The Moomba Festival was really fun. The only reason that I even realized it existed was because one of my friends was in it (I waved to her while she passed, and she saw me- the next day she came into the class yelling that everyone has to say thank you to me for coming), but it was really cool. My favorite part was this egyptian jambox thing.
At the front and back went two women with wings like this:
This one was the one at the back.
I'm jealous. I want those wings.
But that wasn't the best part: the best part was the sphinx.
Why? Because the sphinx had headphones, glasses, and an ipod. Not to mention that when you could see its side it was a jambox. It was blue and gold. It was awesome. I can't find a picture of it, but it was awesome. Whoever thought of it was a genius.
Anyways, after the fesival we went and had lunch out.
Last Sunday we went to a Fete at my old school. I got to meet all my friends, get a new book (it is SO good for drawing stuff!!), and go on some rides. It was super fun!
Last was yesterday, where I went to my first soccer practice. I had fun, and hope that I stay in that mood throughout the season (last season I got a bit low on spirits). It was nice just kicking a ball around and passing it to someone again (and I even shot and scored a few times).
Anyways, this weekend I kind of just went through a little folder of art that's on loose paper. I'll just go in random order:
This is the first horse I tried drawing after I saw CMM's (CinnamonMewMew's) style of drawing. It has seriously affected my own drawing, and it was a very important stage in my horse-drawing life.
That first one I messed up, so I tried again and (with a minor mistake on the cheek) finally got it to my liking. For some reason, I REALLY like the eyes, but I don't draw them like that anymore.
This was how I drew horses before. I remember being SO proud when I drew this. In a few years, I'll remember one f my drawings that I drew today or something, and I'll think "Wow, this is so bad. Look at them now!"
This was my first shaded thing EVER. I was so proud, but when I tried showing it to Dad he went "Yeah, yeah" and kind of didn't pay attention (I don't remember what he was doing).
Then I did this. My art teacher told me it was too small on such a big page, but I think it looks cool, all alone there.
(loo up) That summer... wait. The summer before (it was the 2010 world cup...). I drew this from a newspaper, when Spain went to the finals. Personally, the facial expressions are pretty scary. The guy at the front looks something like Smeagle in his Hobbit form, and the other guys' mouths are just plain wrong.
This is a Black Beauty that I drew from the cover of a book. Not bad.
This was the cover I was looking at. The horse there looks good- natured.
Remember Abby the Kitty? Well, she has some buddies:
(up) Boris the Horse (my attempt at a cartoon horse)...
and Tom the Dog (should have made it Doug the Dog). Abby is probably my favorite, but I absolutely love the dog. It's awesome (it's the tongue and the tennis ball, I think).
I also drew this cat, which I kind of ended up rejecting. I like its tail, though.
From the same time period I have Perry, which I actually drew in honor of one of my friends....
And this horse. That was kind of like my golden age of (MAYBE not-so-realistic but still very productive) drawing. I was jealous because in my art school I wasn't part of the visual arts, and that was actually one of the things I wanted to get into as well as in language arts and band. I wanted to be a visual art kid, so I just kind of made up for the loss by drawing stuff. A LOT of stuff.
The last article of art that I have is a self portrait that I did when I was maybe 8, 9, or 10. I don't remember when. What I do know is that I drew myself in my favorite "watermelon dress" and that I didn't think of myself as particularly pretty.
I'm thinking of doing another self portrait. I should. Maybe I'll get productive and do it sometime.
I also actually have another self portrait that I did in school. It actually won an award and was hung in the library. It's hanging in our house right now, but I think this one right here is better, I guess because it is the tiniest bit realistic, but whatever.
Onto the random picture!
I'm starting softies in design tech and was thinking about a cute unicorn- we'll see!

Woah! ONE MONTH??!!!!!

Sorry. Sorry sorry sorry. The first day I got here I was very tired from the flight, and the next day school started (I did get a bit tired, but I had tried converting to Melbourne time during the flights). Ever since then I've been kind of busy and very distracted. The first day of school I got a whole bunch of talking, but it's getting better (although I am constantly held back by lengthy/ unnecessary ways of the teachers explaining things (mostly because most of the kids in my class don't understand things- in math my math teacher took two lessons to explain something that I learned in 3rd grade- the what I call "Multiple Rainbows").
Anyways, I guess I'll start with the end of Spain. The day before I left I took a l;ast horse- back riding lesson, and got some AWESOME pictures.
This is me riding the same horse as before (Pirate). I was the youngest kid in the class, and it was pretty cool.
This one is a picture of a horse that I just saw standing there, looking sad. And beautiful. Yeah. He's going to get drawn.
Ok, so I was just waiting for my sisters to finish their class, and I saw this pony. He is the CUTEST. This picture does not do him justice, but it was the only one I could get because the camera was dying+ it wasn't really working that well (I got lucky just then). I loved this pony, though, and I'm going to try to remember how he looks like and draw him standing with his tack on.
(this was before the horse-back riding) On the 23rd me and my dad went to the center of the city and took a walk around. We went to the Basque Museum (in the hall of fame there was a guy called Turd Guard, in Spanish "Guarda Mocordos" because he was a police officer, and the badge he had on had the abbreviation "GM" for "Guardia Municipal", or local police, and he was always busting kids doing bad things, and they gave him the nickname) and then after that we walked a bit more to find the Kukuxumusu store, where I got the best shirt EVER (above). For those that don't get the joke the guy on the left is in traditional Basque clothes, and I believe they have this whole thing with axes. I picked this one over a "Yes Tu Can" (a toucan in the American colors, a play on words of "Yes You Can"- guess from where- I thought it was AWESOME) shirt, which shows great praise for it. It is now officially my favorite shirt (over a dark green one with a tiger on it). It came in this bag:
Do you get it?
They have always made the funniest things. I have a journal with Little Red Riding Hood kicking the Big Bad Wolf where it hurts. Those guys are good.
Anyways, onto school. Personally (to put it positively), I'm a bit ahead of most of the people in my class. I've had to sit through many a boring instruction that (in my opinion) are already too obvious. But I'm not other people.
Anyways, since going to High School here I have encountered the strangest fits.
1. In camp (will get to that) I girl threw a big fit at another girl in my cabin because she said her sister was cute. Apparently the girl doesn't like it when people say things when she's away from her sister, even the nice ones.
2. The same girl threw another big fit when we tried to tell scary stories before dinner. Apparently she wouldn't be able to sleep at night if she heard them. So we tried to tell a funny story. She throws another big fit and we tell her she can get out if she wants. She does, but five seconds after we start the story she comes in again, plugs her ears, and starts singing the Smurfs as loud as she could.
3.Yesterday we were doing a project where one person was blindfolded and we had to guide her through a part of the school. In my group four out of five wanted to be blindfolded, so my teacher picked a number between ten and some girl gets the number (I was second closest, so technically I would have been next, but...) one of the girls that wanted to be blindfolded sits down in a chair and starts crying about it. We were the last group to get on with the project and in the end she got to get blindfolded next. I never got a chance. Sure, I was unhappy that I hadn't been able to be blindfolded, but it isn't like that is a reason to sit down and cry. It was ridiculous.
Anyways, I'll run through dates.
The 16th of February- I saw Black Caviar run again live on TV!! Her owners were about to retire her because not only did she get a tiny bit of muscle damage (which wouldn't have stopped her career) she actually got ATTACKED by a swarm of BEES in England. Apparently she was in a really bad way, but now she's back and recovered and is going to race on the 22nd of March!!!! I WILL watch! Anyways, she was racing in the Lightning Stakes, in the race called "The Black Caviar Race" (yes, seriously, now there will be a race called "The Black Caviar Race"forever after). Anyways, I did this:
(yes, I know the guy doesn't have pants, they got lost in his years abandoned in the Barbie box, and I never found them again- I need to make new ones) I think I did pretty good on this (yes, the stirrups are too low, and the tack isn't even the right kind, but I used what I had and the guy couldn't stand up like jockeys do).
On the same day we went to go and see a live Melbourne Victory v.s. the Sydney somethings (the Sydney cheer dudes were WAY overenthusiastic, there were police all around them). The Sydney guys won, and the game was pretty good.
The 17th of February- We went to the beach and played around with the snorkelling gear we got for Christmas!
The 18th- 20th of February- That was camp!
The first day we drove for a while then did our first four activities:
1. The Giant Swing- it was pretty cool (even on the second drop there was a bit of freefall), although not as good as the one that I went to in fifth grade (which was MUCH taller and went over a cliff drop with BEAUTIFUL golden vegetation).
2. The Flying Fox- It was basically a zipline, just you sat on a swing seat. It was kind of relaxing, but not much of a thriller.
3. Then we did some teamwork- building activities instead of damper (because it was too hot to start a fire and we were almost in the middle of nowhere- damoer is a kind if Australian bread that Abiriginals make/ used to make). I think that it was nicer than damper would have been, and I actually saved someone from falling on their back (eeeck! Nice catch!).
4. Last for the day was archery, which was AWESOME. I loved it, even though I did terrible (especially compare to other people). I did hit the target a few times (2 out of 6 tries), but not anywhere close to the middle (basically as far out as you can go).
The next day we did the rest of the activities.
1. We swam in a pool a bit, played a few water games, but mostly it was chaotic.
2. We climbed some climbing walls (I'm not very good at that, so didn't actually do very good), and then did a ropes course (which was much better).
3.We went to the river and splashed around in the shallows a bit. The funnest part was when our teacher let us go upstream and we actually got to walk/ swim (because it got a bit deep!) back to where we had been before. It was super fun but also super creepy because I kept stepping on dead trees that had sunk to the bottom, and someone actually lost their shoe! It competed with archery for the best activity.
4. I played some air hockey, ping pong, and about 30 seconds of soccer.
5. Last we did Mini golf, which I discovered I am really bad at (I got 87 shots for 18 holes...) and where I discovered a cool story/ joke ("I am ze viper...").
That day they also did cabin inspections, and my cabin won!
This was a cool view that we could see from the camp:
I thought this was a cool hill, and the picture isn't very good.
The next day when we went back home they stopped at a cold- climate rainforest and we took a little walk on a boardwalk (one up high, and one down low). Here are some pictures:

There were some seriously huge trees there (apparently some more than 400 years). I saw some tree trunks thicker than two people (they were RIICULOUS).

These were the tops of some very small trees. My teachers were talking about the competition for sunlight, and that's why some of the trees got so big (in my opinion). I also learned this cool thing to find out which way is North: moss grows where there is less sunlight (below the equator in the south side, above the equator in the north side). So if you just look at the direction of where the moss is growing you can tell which way is North. I though that was useful.
Saturday the 23rd of February- We went to a festival called "White Night Melbourne". We saw Jazz, a light show in a church, line dancing, and a cute thing where the people went around and cleaned things (a guy surprised me by all of a sudden brushing my toes). The best, though, was a laser show on the river, where they shot out water in fountains of different shapes and combined them with laser lights to make amazing shapes. It was very beautiful, and it was accompanied by ethereal music (which I usually like a lot). It was pretty awesome.
Sunday the 24th of February- I went to a type of conference (called "The Women's Hackathon") where some college students had been working for two whole days on two different projects. The first was a website that would potentially help girls mostly between the ages 12-14 that were taken by men that sold them for their bodies escape from these men (or, as the case might be women). The girls, if they could get their hands on an electronic device would be able to access the website and get advice on how to escape and where they could escape to. They could also figure where they were and even talk to someone live with a webchat. And on top of that, the second they accessed the website it would not be remembered on the history of the device automatically, so that the trafficker wouldn't know that she had accessed it.
The other project was to do with people that do sports on like mountains and things, and even if you're just doing jogging. They had first aid tips, global tracking/ directions, a call for help button, a heartbeat monitor, and other things. It is very important if you get into an emergency and there is nobody there to help you, or if someone with you gets into an emergency and you need to help them before help arrives.
Both teams did a good job, and later we had a dinner together.
Dates I missed:
We went on a little walk close to school and we took some pictures:
I thought this one was funny.
I thought this ivy on the wall looked all 2D and awesome.
This one wasn't from the walk, I woke up one day and the sun was rising and this tree looked totally awesome from the window, so I took a picture of it.
Saturday the 2nd of February- I got together with almost all my friends and we filmed a horror movie (I got killed because I accidentally fell off a bed and hit my head). It was really fun.
Onto the random picture!
No, that is not a picture. It is a digital drawing! It is by this girl on Deviant Art named Feverpaint and she is SUPER good. She has tons of other awesome drawings.

Hmm... What do I Call this Post?

No idea.
Anyways...
Last time I talked I was in Madrid, about to paint on a wall. Now... well, I'm in Bilbao, and I painted my cousin's wall as a birthday present.
The wall had two horses and a flower. I think it was okay, and hope she'll like it (when she grows up of course, she's only 1 now).
So, I've come.
To Bilbao.
I'll come back to Melbourne on Sunday (well, at least go on a plane then, there's no knowing when I'm getting off). I have ANOTHER horse back riding lesson on Saturday (YAY!), and I have done some stuff lately.
Okay, so this was from Madrid, but I couldn't resist. It's my cousin's birthday cake (that I'm going to draw sometime), so cute (I picked it...)!

(Look down) A few days ago I went to see the Puente Colgante (exact translation "Hanging Bridge") otherwise known as Puente Vizcaya ("Vizcaya Bridge"). It's called the hanging bridge because there's this part of the bridge that's hanging from the top that's kind of like a ferry except (is the right word "flying" or "hanging"?). Anyways, the thing is HUGE (and dark red- crimson? It's for representing the location it is in), therefore hard to photo. I don't think this photo is too bad, though. It's pretty cool (with the weird perspective and it looking all black and stuff).

So these pictures are of (part) of the view from the bridge (I was 50m up), and one side is the (river?) with the city, and the other is part of the city with the ocean. It was nice (but cold).
Today I had a walk around the city (it was nice) and got the coolest (seriously, COOLEST) shirt ever (but nobody will get it when I get back home... sigh).
Since I don't have anything else to say...

I'll talk about KITTIES!
So far my favorite breed of cat is the Egyptian Mau (these two). Sure, I like persians and maine coons, but I like the sleeker cats because, really, the persians are so incredibly ugly they're cute (I don't know if that's a compliment...) and the maine coons  are plain ridiculous (too fance`, as I say, like fancy, but with an e sound).
I like the siamese (they're pretty), but so far these guys are the best (but I haven't been able to fully inspect my cat breed book, so). I like fance` cats (at least some of them).
Also, I really want to draw some kitties... in CARTOON! Remember Abby the Kitty? Well, cartoons like that.
I just randomly remembered (well, not randomly, I started re-writing No Normal Horses as a picture book) these today, and decided to dig them out.
Anastasia...

Idocus (who reminds me of some sort of dog in the drawing)...
(above) Brom the draft horse.
Kit, the innocent bystander.

 The dumbos (b isn't pronounced).

(my favorite) Sam, the younger child.
(below) Sean, the older child.
(technical difficulties) Onto the random picture!
That's a picture of the pavement in Bilbao. There's barely anything flat, just these flower things. It's the thing I think is most different (aesthetically) in different countries.
