Movie Ratings

First of all, no, I have not been to the movies lately, although I do want to go (Hunger Games!). Australia has a rating system then Americans. There are additional ratings other than our own. See for yourself:

Awesome, right? Sorry, some things are small. MA is "Not suitable for people under 15. Under 15s must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian." And you ask, "Why is this important?" Well, I'll tell you why: BECAUSE I HAVE TO KNOW WHAT THE MOVIES I WATCH ARE RATED! Hey, just saying... I think G, PG, PG13, and R are just fine.
Anyways, it has been like two or three days. It has rained. And rained. And rained. Well, except for today. Although, my parents did say that it rained a little. But tomorrow it is supposed to rain. And rain. And rain. And Friday and Saturday too. But that isn't important.
This is what is important: SAVE THE EARTH! Today I watched "An Inconvenient Truth", and you can't believe how depressing it is. I mean, more than all of my integrated lessons put together. And they didn't even talk about deforestation that much (it WAS one of my most passionate topics before, but now that topic is the ice caps melting. You know how much damage that is doing?). So now I feel sad that I am contributing to all this and want to try to help... and I wish for you to try as well. All you have to do is click here and take a look at the  "Take Action" section and then the "Reduce Your Impact At Home" section. And watch the movie! Try to spread the word about this crisis, contact news agencies, anything! Because seriously, if you were studying what I am, you will go crazy to save the environment. And if we don't, let me give you a sneak peek at what will happen: You know the 9/11 Memorial? You know how we vowed to protect it forever? If the Western part of Antartica, just the WESTERN part, melts, then it will be underwater. And if Greenland melts instead, the same thing will happen. And that is just a little thing. Watch the movie, read the book. Please, do it for the environment.

Umm...

Honestly, I do not know what to call this post... I could call it beach, but I don't know. Anyways, when was the last time I wrote? I just checked and... FOUR DAYS! I really can't believe that... although yeah, the last time I remember writing was Thursday? Anyways, there isn't much to tell about Friday. My mom got back from Sydney really late in the night and my sister had her recorder lesson. Yesterday I went shopping, on my bike, in 38 degrees (celsius, like 100 degrees fahrenheit). It didn't take that long, but still. Today I went to the beach... after like hours of driving around. And then the beach was full of seaweed and dried up flower things >P but I had a pretty good time :) Then we spent like an hour driving back. Also, I discovered that the sign on the highway has changed (it must change like every month), and it says:

If everybody is speeding, then why are you passing them? (sorry, no google images)

So that is the basic sum of like three days. Pretty short, huh?

I Think I Know Why Everything Else Is (or will be) Expensive

I really think I have... it is about Carbon Dioxide seeping into the air for every single thing that needs a fuel of some sort (everything, since the factories in which it was made needed that fuel). In Australia they are going to tax the factories and stuff for how much carbon dioxide they release and in doing this are trying to get them to lower the amount of carbon dioxide... but there is a catch. This will make the products that these companies produce more expensive, since they need to make up for the lost money. When this happens (if it will happen at all) the government might have to lower taxes so that people can actually pay for stuff... that is basically the story, and it is very sad. First it is how much water we are using (too much) and then it is how much carbon dioxide we are making! I mean, if these things were reversed everything would be perfect. We would be making tons of water for us to drink, and we would be taking all that polluting carbon away... but hopefully just the polluting part. If we take away the natural carbon dioxide then all the natural things would not go naturally and everything would go wrong... making us die, so... our situation would be kind of hopeless if it was that way. We'd probably have to like cut down all the trees or something. Anyways, my mom is in Sydney. And now you're wondering: How did that come up? You didn't give any warning! Well, I did know she was going, but not so soon, so sorry about that. Anyways, I'll be fine- my dad always drives us to school anyways. She''l come back on Friday- and hopefully with a souvenir!

Squirrels

I know that squirrels may seem a like weird topic, but the point is that there aren't any squirrels here. No, really, there aren't! That is another weird thing: the cafe that was closed for like two or three months is called the squirrel cafe... don't ask. Even the waiters couldn't even answer why. Anyways, yesterday I went to this boat called Castlemaine. It was a war ship in World War II, and now it is a museum. They had replicas of other ships, old fashioned radios and morse code. The replicas were really realistic and awesome, and the radios were really old (not really). The boat had like four levels and there were these really scary stairs to each (they were more like ladders). It was really cool, and I totally attacked the machine guns (seriously, there were like three of them, and they were huge). All of it was really awesome, and it is highly recommended (not that many of you could go there any time soon). I also went to a little craft market and ate some fudge :P Today I went back to school... Now we aren't studying water, but mining and industry... There are some big ups and a lot of downs. Some of the downs actually affect people: they might even inhale dust if there is too much of it. So, yes I know, there hasn't been much vocabulary... that is because I exhausted all my resources (haha, get it? Mining!), and probably found almost all the differences. Sorry :(
